Nice idea and nice skin… however as you say yourself ‘commonly used European halberdier’ - do we need a unique skin for a common unit?

If the French had Halberdiers as a Royal Guard unit or Church Tech that renamed them and offered some form or perk, fine.

Otherwise, I don’t see the need to make a fairly universal euro unit have a unique skin for one civ.

There is a shipment that acknowledges Cent-suiess so I suppose there’s a sliver of stat change to just about justify a skin/name change, however this shipment also effects crossbowmen and pikes so that falls flat too.

I don’t think this unit should be a Halberdier variant at all. Both the Cent Suisses and Papal Guards are actually a variety of Swiss Guards. So if it is to be a special skin, it should be a Papal Guard with a different hat and colour scheme. Simply have the card ship a bunch of fancy Papal Guard variants instead of buffing archaic units.

The current card is kind of odd in that it affects xbows and pikes as well as halbs. That doesn’t seem like a very good fit for the theme of the card or France’s play style. It seems to be part of the general push to make archaic units usable in the late game.

it honestly should be like reservistas for halberds, since they were equipped with muskets, like in fact most swiss mercs at the time.

First try.
I would like these guys for a new Papal Guards shipment exclusive for French, or simply as the new French Halberdiers.
