Is there no way the community can put pressure on the devs to issue the Tanguts and Tibetans as a free patch?
At this point I think this would be the best option, we’d need to put together our thoughts and make our own mods of the civs that we want to see so that our voices can be heard. Don’t forget Cysion was once a casual modder before being hired by Microsoft as the lead developer of the AoE 2 franchise.
Once again I’d like to share my proposals regarding some East and SE Asian civs that fit the AoE 2 time period and haven’t been introduced to the game yet. I put my time and effort into researching and writing them and worked with the historical resources I have at my disposal. Granted they may not be 100% perfect or historical but I feel that most of them are reasonable.
Unfortunately I’m not a modder and know nothing about modding and can’t make them into a mod, and I’m not sure if all my designs would be compatible with the AoE 2 game engine, but if anyone would like to add one of my proposed civs in their mod or would like to take some inspirations from my designs then I’m free to let you use them as long as you quote my name (KarstHillFort77 or my blog name MNOPSC1b)

From all the content creators and many comments i’ve seen here and on youtube.
As first, we were expecting the Bai people (Dali kingdom) to be there instead of what is now Shu and the Whitefeather guard screenshots.
Second there is a strong wish for Tibetans that was the other grasp they had seeing screenshots of Shu and the Whitefeather Guard.
As third and the strongest analysis is the Tanguts because their units are now given to the Khitai.
Those should be the mainfocus for the three. And maybe a change to the unit for the Khitai to make them historically accurate.
And last there is a strong wish for Siamese/Thai.
But that would be a fourth civ, and it’s not part of the china diaspora, but rather southeast asian.
Thus Siam/Thai should probably be the next DLC, if you keep it fanfocused. Maybe it’s a good replacement for the romans xD
