As we all know there is a massive dislike of the upcoming Chinese DLC.
Sure we get Jurchens. But there is also controversy about the Khitans being two civs in one.
And we wish to see Tibetans, Dali. And possible another Chinese civ, like the one that was added to the Khitans.
Yesterday i saw this video with an analysis of the media we were presented.
Then, what if we made a fanmade mod for these civilizations?
There is so much enthusiasm for these civilizations. Why not all of us work together to make a mod that adds these civilizations. Maybe even add campaigns?
Honestly iām not a modder, iām a scenario designer. I could make something sweet in the scenario editor. But iām willing to learn to mod.
But iād also love to take this initiative, because there is just so much collective enthusiasm for this.
Imagine we did have a mod thats these civilizations. Imagine it become so common to insert it in the custom game supremacy hosted games to play with this. Or from the mod manager already installed. Then we could reshape the given 3K civs.
For example the one with the WhitePlume Spearman becomes Tibetan or Dali for example.
With the new expansion there will be new units to work with. It could mean there is some work already done.
Anyway, are there people who are willing to make such a mod?
I was literally doing this before the DLC was announced:
I paused it when I thought this might come out (twice in fact). But now it seems like that is not the case anymore, possibly ever. So once my busy week clears up, I will get back on the saddle. At least these new East Asian trees and other scenario editor models will come in handyā¦
That is amazing! Where could i follow your work? like if you have a website or a post here on this website?
iām sure many people would be interested.
Exactly! The space is there.
Also we could already consider or call the āShuā the Tibetans or Dali (Bai).
In theory, you can have Tangut speak Tangut language because their writing has been preserved and there are dictionaries available for sale. Some people practice calligraphy or singing in Western Xia script, I mean the Tangut people no longer have it. But their words can always be learned and used.
(This dictionary is also available in PDF format online)
In fact, there were still quite a few families (nominally obeying and gain recognition from the central dynasty and continue family hereditary locally in the form of officials), some of which ruled over territories that were probably not much smaller than the Kingdom of Sicily, like Lady Xian - Wikipedia
The descendants of the Western Xia royal family are still distributed locally, and they are not genetically the Xianbei Tuoba (apparently, the Tuoba surname was once given to too many families).
I mean, Tangut as a nation has disappeared, and of course, Tangutās descendants still exist. I know they regularly go to the Western Xia royal tombs to worship their ancestors, and even I myself may be a descendant of Western Xia.
Tangut is certainly not a Xianbei person, only the Tuoba clan of Tangguteās royal family may have Xianbei bloodline.
And in Ningxia, there is a place called Nanchangtan Village, which is full of descendants of Dangxiang peopleļ¼Tangutļ¼. The only way to enter and exit this village is by ferry. This is also the reason why they stayed here to escape the pursuit of the Mongols back then.
Just pointing that it would have been better to post that into āModdingā section. (as youāre suggestion a fanmade mod)
Try asking moderator if you can have it moved there.
I would love to get some advice on this! Getting hold of the Tangut language is difficult where I am, and I would love to have some translations of it to be able to record voice lines with.
