- Battle Drills: Only gives +2 melee attack - other stat buffs are transferred to the Paragon. This is an indirect buff to Athenians.
- Split Lancer line similar to Milita line of AoE2: Add a specific technology for the Lancer in the Imperial Age which grants +20 HP, +2 attack. The Imperial Cavalry upgrade provides the same stat buffs to the Lancer, as it currently does to Shock Cavalry. Not sure what the nomenclature would be, but I personally do not like “Imperial Cavalry”. This is simply an experimentation ground, so it would be good to try this too.
- Imperial Cavalry upgrade: While this does provide the same as the Paladin upgrade in AoE2, the devs had the chance to make it better. As a famous trivia, Paladins attack slower than Cavaliers. I want this to be changed. Maybe if Imperial Cavalry provided -10 HP and +1 melee armor, but did not worsen the RoF, it would be great.
- Achaemenid TCs: Economic TC available in the Archaic Age, and Defensive TC in the Classical Age. Achaemenids have a boring Archaic Age, and no one would get Defensive TC early in the game.
- Allow Polemarchs with Ephorate to fully benefit each other. Currently, it is set to 20 HP/min, compared to 50 HP/min for other human units. Two Polemarchs up close do not benefit the grouped units double, so it should not be an issue.
- Allow Polemarch auras to benefit self even in absence of the other Polemarch. In other words, if I research Morai, all Polemarchs should move 15% faster naturally, but the aura benefit they grant each other should cancel out. This is annoying when Polemarchs are paired with mounted units. Those units can move faster due to the Polemarch’s aura, but since the Polemarch himself is stuck at that speed (unless boosted by other Polemarch), the units will practically remain at the same speed. This does not contradict my previous point though.
Non-balance suggestions:
- Remove range indicator for the Strategos - As a unit which can be massed (unlike Polemarchs), it is very annoying to have so many circles on screen.
- Rename Military Policy and Naval Policy - really not intuitive.
