Issue:
Default civs in the editor can impact scenarios when players select a different god.
In the below example, an Egyptian God was set as the default civ in the editor, but when selecting Norse in the Skirmish/Scenario menu the TC inherits Egyptian Cost.
Trigger Event:
My assumption for this happening is that the editor sets a civ’s tech Status, which stays active even when selecting another god in the Scenario menu when playing.
Egyptian civ Tech has a cost Override on the TownCenter setting it’s cost to Gold, and 0 for all other resources.
Norse civ techs has a cost Override on other buildings such as Houses, making them cost the proper Wood cost, but does NOT have a cost Override on Town Center cost, so it inherits the Egyptian cost.
It is very likely that this affects more than the Town Center.
There are some other issues, such as the Titan inheriting the visual of the editor civ, and not the player’s chosen civ.
As this bug likely affects more than just the TC, as every single building that has a Cost Override on any civ that another civ doesn’t also override will have this bug, a proposed solution would be to inactivate the Player Data Editor civ and replace with the chosen Scenario/Skirmish menu civ.
Repro Steps:
- Create a blank scenario
- Set playerdata god to Egyptian
- Load scenario in the skirmish menu and select a Norse civ
- TC has Egyptian cost.
