The situation is like this: I have my army of 16 archers in the enemy base, I create 2 archers in my city, I add them to group 1. Then I want to check my main army, I press “1” and then space bar but the game shows me the 2 recently added archers, in the middle of nowhere, instead of showing me the main army fighting. It happens to me in almost every game and I have lost battles because of this.
Is there any way to avoid that? or configure it to prioritize the view of the main army instead of a couple of units?
I tried trying different combinations in the scenario editor, like creating the group from scratch with CTRL+1 but the game always thinks it’s more important to show me an archer in the middle of nowhere instead of the army fighting. It’s very annoying.
You can set space bar as another hotkey. You can also focus No.1 army group by press 1 key twice.
The game shows the middle of groups even groups are scattered. So I recommend adding groups near the main army.
Yeah, is too bad it does this still. It was reported a long time ago, so maybe it’s not easy to fix, or not a priority to fix. There was at least this old thread that had an idea:
I wonder if AoE2:HD’s behavior regarding this was the same as DE’s
