The latest announcement wasn’t very rich in content, as It simply contained two flags:
However, one of them - the PLC flag, should be improved. Since the PLC did not have a state flag (like many states of AoE3 timeline), the royal banner is often used as a flag. The royal banners of the PLC included the coat of arms of the PLC with smaller royal dynasty arms in the middle. There are as many variants of such a banner as there are rulers and dynasties ruling the PLC:
In the image from the announcement we can see that a variant for the Swedish Vasa dynasty was used in incoming expansion (as these graphics look like assets from the game).
There is no reason to use this particular banner variant as there are different variants for different years and rulers. Since the AoE3 timeline covers the entire period of the PLC’s existence, not only that of the Vasa dynasty rule, I suggest changing the flag to a variant without any royal dynasty arms, just with the coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. This variant was already used in the rev files that leaked last year, but for some reason it was changed (perhaps an oversight by devs):
This may be a clue, but my personal guess as to the role of AI personality for Polish civ is John Sobieski (the winner from Vienna), as he was of Polish descent (not foreign like the Vasa rulers) and probably the most famous PLC ruler. He is also the only PLC king commemorated on Polish zloty banknotes, so the Poles themselves probably also consider him the most outstanding ruler of this period.
So the probability is that it is Sigismund III (uncle of Gustavus Adolphus), since during his reign he conquered Moscow in 1613 and was the Polish king during the first half/phase of the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1632)…
Sigismund achieved royal authority over two kingdoms: Poland and Sweden. He was a fervent Catholic and an expansionist monarch. His government was carried out mainly in Poland, from where he tried to rule Sweden. His unpopularity caused him to be overthrown in Sweden in 1599 and uprisings in Poland, as well as the failure of his expansion into the Russian Tsardom as I said above. However, the Republic of the Two Nations would begin with him a period of political strength and influence.
Yes, it is another option, but either option is completely valid…
