Edit: Below this message, you find videos of both:
The player hosting the lobby, and the player trying to join the lobby.
Issue: There is a crash that happens when players try to join custom lobbies in which any mod is selected that was published after the latest DLC (Jin Dynasty), and which the player joining did not download before. I have tested for crafted maps and tuning packs, but I believe this goes for all types of mods.
The players trying to join will crash (game will close). Players in the lobby will see the player for another 30 seconds in the lobby, but the host is unable to press “start” until the other player is finally kicked out of the lobby.
Repro Steps:
Download e.g. a crafted map published in June 2026
Host a lobby and select that map
Let another player try to join the lobby → His game will close immediatel

Please, can you at least tell me if you received my message? Its very frustrating. This bug still exists. You can see it here. It literally destroys the whole modding community. Please devs, give me a sign you’ve read this
In the stream, it happens all the time, at minute 8:52. This is just one of countless examples:
Players join the lobby, the host cannot press “start”. He wonders why they dont chat and just leave after 30-60 seconds, but in fact they already crashed when they entered the lobby.
Then after a few minutes of this over and over he gives up and starts the game alone. All other players crashed to desktop, no warning or error message.
I experienced this today when I wanted to join a custom lobby with Crucible mode, my game crashes. Tried in multiple lobbies with same behavior:
Edit: also tested with other modes. Think its related to the Map. I joined a game and it crashed. Then I downloaded the map manually before, joined the game and it did not crash
