When viewing the credits in AoE2 DE, the names roll in front of the darkened main menu background.
In the CD game, the credits are more visually appealing, because of drawn group pictures of the Ensemble Studios developers in medieval attire. The Conquerors also introduced pictures with smaller groups of close-ups. About 50 individual people in total are seen in those images. For many people, the nicknames/handles are included, I saw few such names in the DE credits (mostly of CaptureAge members).
Would be cool to have something comparable in DE, with campaign-style illustrations of the devs of Forgotten Empires and other development teams.
