:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.

Person A hosts a custom map installed through Tools > Mods.
Person B invited without installing the mod first and downloads during loading.

Person B hosts the custom map.
Person A joins.
Person A sees the map as “Unknown” but Person B sees it as the custom map. Toggling the map and back does not help. However, when ready and playing, the map is correct (the custom map).

Person A also now has 2 copies of the Custom Map when hosting or filtering. This is because it is now both in the subscribed folder and the randmaps folder outside mods.

Biggest concern here is if we try to make updates the map, then people who are subscribed will eventually have a different competing version than those who got it through joining a game. Even worse if someone has two copies in two different folders like Person A.

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

Downloaded file should go to the subscribed folder just like the host or everyone else who downloaded through Tools > Mods.

The best solution to this I think is to just shift completely to making all custom map downloads count as a subscription - have all downloads from joining a game download to the subscription folder and ignore the randmaps outside the mods folder. That way we get the full playerbase count for the map but also everyone is affected when the map is updated. The biggest danger right now is if someone is not subscribed but has an old version and continues to host, leading to multiple mismatching versions of the map out there simultaneously.
