Castle Age aggression can’t really be called a rush. You have plenty of time to scout what your opponent is doing and thus plenty of time to do something about it. Knights are strong but expensive, so don’t think that this change would help the game’s balance. (The price of) Crossbow upgrade is something I’d take a look at, if anything.
