 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
I can’t delete my scenario editor file backup. Whenever I start the game, it downloads everything back from the cloud…

It’s pretty terrible. I usually make a lot of backups. But I can’t delete them afterwards. My scenario folder is completely flooded for nothing and it’s taking up space on my computer.

Disabling and re-enabling cloud backup in the steam settings doesn’t change anything. No matter what you do, done before or after, directly in the folder without going through the game, as soon as I put the cloud back the files come back…

I want to keep the steam could keep my homecities decks and levels between my computers, so I don’t want to disable it entirely.

On discord. I found an age of mythology retold player having the same problem with his save files. I guess it must be the same bug.

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a scenario in the editor and save it
  2. Quit the game and restart it
  3. Remove the scenario file
  4. Quit the game and restart it
  5. The scenario file is still there…

My scenario foldier before removing a file (but has the today’s date)

After removing a file (the n°1)

After a restart of the game: the file n°1 is still there…

If you are running into this if you try to delete the file through file explorer, it isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. If you want to remove saved games, you have to delete them from within the game. If you’re running into it when trying to delete things using the in-game menu, it’s probably worth checking your steam cloud settings and making sure steam cloud is fully syncing when you close your game.

OK, I get it!

I usually work in a sub-folder (which I create outside the game but located in the main scenario folder) in order to group together all the backups of the same scenario.

And that’s what the cloud has trouble understanding. It does manage to save them, but for some obscure reason it doesn’t understand deletion.

I deleted the entire sub-folder, taking care to move the final scenario into the main scenario folder. Everything seems to be working normally.

Thanks for your reply, it’s given me time to think and find the solution!
