Two Issues:

  1. When replaying the attached savegame where a player disconnected, the disconnect causes the replay to try uploading to the Steam Cloud even though it shouldn’t and then shows a prompt when it can’t.
  2. There isn’t a way (at least easily) to delete Steam Cloud files. From what I read, Steam expects game developers to implement ways in-game to manage the Steam Cloud files, but AoE2 doesn’t appear to have a way to do so.

Additional Details: When a player disconnects, a savegame is created that automatically gets uploaded to the Steam Cloud (Sign In) but that webpage doesn’t give the option to delete the files. The files are stored locally on my computer at C:\Users\MyRedactedWindowsUserName\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\76561198132784030\savegame\multi but deleting the files from there doesn’t remove them from the cloud.

:arrow_forward: ############ STEPS

Replay the attached savegame and fast-forward to the end. Near the end, a player will disconnect. If your Steam Cloud is full, you’ll get a message saying that your cloud storage is full; if it isn’t you can probably check your cloud storage and see the savegame there.

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

  1. Games don’t get uploaded to the cloud when the disconnect occurs while replaying the savegame.
  2. There is an in-game way to delete Steam Cloud files.

Hi @TheBattlizer
Thanks for your report, we are now tracking the issue with the replays

there is a way but steam dont make it easy for user to do so, and AGE support is also really poor in this area. this cloud save full thing also proceeds to drop a random player in multiplayer game which is unacceptable, it has been around for at least a year and not fixed yet.

to delete steam cloud content, first disable cloud storage. then delete save game/files, replays etc and head to your steam user folder (bunch of number) and delete unwanted files.

finally, follow this link with the steps and it’ll clear everything up:
