First i want to point out that King Midas would be generally a great choice but he feels very underwhelming currently + i think he would be SO MUCH better with Dionysus as a minor god cause he basically got “cursed” by Dionysus.
Also King Midas fits the theme well with gold and greed and here comes Plutus the greek god of wealth and - be surprised - the son of Demeter! And what unit would fit amazingly well to a god of wealth? YES, the gryphon…
The gryphon would be a much better mythic age myth unit cause:
→ its a big monster
→ it could tank better and attack everything (and be an actual useful unit)
→ i can come up very quickly with some cool specific features for this unit without overcomplicating things like Siren does:
Looking at the Greek major gods:
Zeus emphasizes aggression and myth power dominance.
Hades leans into durability and strong myth units.
Poseidon focuses on mobility and cavalry advantages.
An Amazon-style elite human unit would:
Synergize better with her economic/military scaling.
Differentiate Demeter from the other Greek gods instead of making her feel like a variant of Zeus/Hades.
The Fortress in the Mythic Age is typically where Greeks unlock their strongest defining units. For Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon, the Fortress reinforces their strategic identity.
For Demeter, Harpies feel like a mismatch:
They are fragile.
They are raid-oriented.
They don’t scale as well in large late-game fights.
A powerful human unit like Amazons — perhaps ranged anti-myth specialists or elite infantry with nature-themed bonuses — would be arguably better
