Any guesses on which campaigns might/should release?

Iā€™ll buy any campaign. I would personally like a late Roman or a Byzantine campaign, but Iā€™ll enjoy campaigns from MENA, SubSaharian Africa, East Asia, Americasā€¦

Vikings, Turks, Byzantines and Japanese could have a campaign.

I hope for Korean, Vikings and Romans campaigns.

I think this is a really good move. no more bad civ additions. just adding campaigns also shouldnt introduce new bugs

I am sure the DLC will be accompanied by a patch which will have balance changes and some new regional units. Which may introduce new bugs.

Civs that miss one except Mayans. So Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Turks and Vikings.

balance changes, Iā€™m ok with
new regional units Iā€™m sceptical.

how can you be sure about this?

Steamdb files added 3 sub files. So maybe there are 3 campaigns. Iā€™ll go with Vikings, Turks and Chinese.

Sorry wrong choice of words. It is my guess. I think they will show off some new units which will be used in the campaigns.

Does that mean you can buy the campaigns separately or just one DLC with 3 campaigns?

Ummā€¦good question. I have no idea. Will be great if you can by separately as well as in a bundle like the cosmetic DLC.

Thatā€™s a pretty interesting move, but good overall I think. Iā€™m not much of a campaign guy myself - havenā€™t gotten around to most of the DE era ones, although a good Maya campaign would probably tempt me. Anyway, this seems like a prime opportunity to add more heroes and unique Editor units, buildings, and objects. I really hope they lean into that rather than just making campaigns with the existing content or adding the bare minimum of 1 new protagonist hero and some token unusable objects (e.g. Svan ā€œTowersā€) like they did with TMR.

Announcing an announcement!!!

Well, thatā€™s something people here have asked for quite a long time, just like it was with Poles/Boheminas and Georgians/Armenians. Iā€™m happy, campaigns are my favourite part of the game.

Personally I would love a Crusades themed DLC but ā€˜ā€˜the forgottenā€™ā€™ Chinese, Vikings and Turks look like the best guess.

I would put money on Japanese, Koreans and Romans. All are extremely unlikely to be included as campaigns in any DLC pack.

True. Once they included the civ in the game a campaign became almost a question of honor.

Monkey paw closes a finger. Itā€™s a Return of Rome Roman campaign

I really hope its more than 3 campaigns

East Asian pack with Koreans and Japanese (lets add Chinese to an East Asian civ DLC)

European pack with Vikings and Slavs/Magyars

Mediterranean pack with Turks/Romans

I just thought. We have had 3-campaigns in a DLC before, but they were never split up like this.

Perhaps the three files are:

  • AoE2 DE Campaigns
  • RoR Campaigns
  • AoE2 DE Historical Battles

Poor Mayans left out by both of us.
