Since the Champi line will replace the Militia line for South American civs, do you think this could happen with a future Mesoamerican DLC?
Since the Eagle line starts from Feudal, this would require an extra unit:
Eagle Scout (Dark) → Eagle Runner (Feudal) → Eagle Warrior (Castle) → Elite Eagle Warrior (Imperial)
no, and neither should they.
militia line fulfills a very different role compared to the eagle line, so just taking the militia line away from them would be a significant nerf to these civs

The way people are obsessing over it is weird
Hell, even if the Meso civs got a line replacement I would say that the crossbow line would need replacing before the swordsman line
If you want to hope for a Meso chamge, I qould start by givingbthem slingers and reworkimg the unit to be less opressive vs eagles
If it were just a scouting and raiding unit, it would be fine. The fact that it replaces the most fundamental infantry unit in the game is a problem.
Hopefully eagles are left alone and we get a xbow arb replacement unit for all american civis.
I would be opposed to that as well. I like historical accuracy probably more than anyone else here, but AoE2 is itself a piece of history and it shouldn’t be altered too much.
Bit too late for that now,we already have replacement/alternative units for every siege workshop units so why not others?
