The new abbasid’s MaA can have 224 HP in castle age, which is almost equivalent to general knight (230 HP). This high amount of HP and double attack when charging allows it to easily kill its counter units like Crossbow, and some MaA like Palace guard, in both equivalent number and cost-wise.
