This is exactly my view of them. Bullet sponges that do adequate damage to ill-armored units. Sprinkle in a few aggro pulling EEA with your HCs and halbs (and maybe camels if you have the gold) and you have a very hard to counter setup.
Thanks for the feedbak.
Yeah, Iâve nerfed some of the best civs in order to balance them. Is easier than buff everyone
And elephant archers are designed to be tanky, but in the front line they would halb food
Not if you have HCs / champs / your own halbs / camels (pick and choose) as the main force with EAâs sprinkled in. They may not be a much of a force, but theyâre definitely a very good force multiplier. If anything, +2 or +3 LOS might be nice since the archer sits higher anyway (and does not change aggro range as thatâs a separate stat) Since you donât have a lot of speed, you can at least see the incoming halbs / flaming camels sooner and move your other units towards them.
Yes but I think the idea is to use them with the HC, also maybe they could replace their food cost with a wood cost.
Yes maybe with the Britons you are right, but if you reduce the bonus of the Italians or the mayans you get some weird numbers.
I can live with some weird numbers in order to give balance (?
I donât know itâs just feel that way
Maybe Iâm Compulsive-obsessive
I mean, they are odd numbers indeed. But sometimes you just canât fix them properly
Iâll try to explain, for example the discounted fishing ships now cost 60w (less 15w) so basically with 4 FS you saved enaught for a fifth FS, with your proposal the FS would cost 68w, so you save 7w, it mean that every 9.7 FS you made you can have one for free.
Itâs not just a weaker bonus, itâs less straight foward, less intuitive (also you probably wonât make that many FS in the DA).
A bonus needs to have a clear benefit, to be easy to see the advantage that you get.
Same thing about the Britons TC, now you understand that you get 1 for the price of 2, so itâs easy to see the effect, and as a result itâs more easier to better plan a strategy.
Though again, love the idea of the increment of the speed of the TK with relics, it could make them viable in certain situations whiteout making them OP, the devs could seriously consider this.
Is there a specific thread to discuss the changes?
Independent of all the other suggestions, since it certainly wouldnât be enough on its own , I actually really enjoy the additional line of sight bonus. Itâs useful, it makes sense, and while I would not build it solely for that purpose, I would definitely enjoy having it, to give me a bit of extra forewarning before being attacked.
Give me that, and reduce the upgrade cost, and I could almost see them giving me enough utility to be worth incorporating. Not in huge numbers, but then, thatâs why we reduced the upgrade cost in the first place.
Include two to four of them in any group of hand cannons and you will substantially increase your durability in two different ways, at a reasonable cost. It sounds almost⊠Decent.
I am afraid we shall wait one more month.
At least they balanced the shorefishing bonus accordingly to the new use of docks as gathering point for villagers.
??? Is it normal I see no update?
yes, its not released yet so its subjected to change
And where can I read these patch notes?
Thx!
How do you know it is not released?
