Elo

Hi everyone, could someone explain to me how the “elo” system works? How is it possible that I find opponents with elo 900 and they have lost 2 games? Have you ever lost 50 points in a game? …and above all, I have an Elo of 830 in the team, I lose two 900s and I find myself losing 19…I don’t know but there’s something that doesn’t add up to me. When I win against opponents with elo 850/870 I win 15/16 points… well?

Hi, It’s the K factor, in your very first 10 ranked 1v1 games, the K factor will be 100 (system assuming both opponents are equal, but your rival may have played more than 10 games already), thus winning 1st or 2nd match earns you 50 (±2) elo, same for subtraction if you lose, for the other player it depends.

As for the team game, I don’t know. Others will explain to you.

thanks so much for the explanation

You just gain/lose more Elo in your first game. This way you will play against equally skilled players more quickly. After some dozen of games it defaults to about 16 elo for each game.
