Hasn’t it always been like that? I remember we could always hear onager shots.

Yes it is always like that since AOK. But without LOS it still does so i think it is quite problematic?

Don’t you think it would be pretty loud if someone was knocking down trees with siege weaponry at that distance…

Have you ever experienced an onager in real? or a trebuchet?

Yeah, trebuchets are quite impressive. But I don’t think you would hear them if you are on the recieving end.

Not sure whether I can still hear it from the edge of the map, to another edge of the map. Like there are 50 wonders between there

nah, maybe 10 to 15 tiles away you can hear something in the distant if there is fog of war.

You’re right!

I’ve changed my mind.

I’ve done some calculations and looked some stuff up. If we assume the average pine tree is 12m spread diameter, that gives us a tile size. I found a paper in which they estimated a falling tree might be head 285m away. Therefore we want the sound to be audible around 24 tiles away…

(I don’t have a reference to tell me the loudness of a rock falling on rock though, so there’s one more thing to check if someone wants to)

Yes, if dev team implement this so that the sound can be heared when it is within certain range like 10 to 15 tiles aways no matter fog of war, it would be a interesting easter egg that dev team are so into the details of the actual physical world
