I wish it was easier to find new civs when they launch. Something like this, for instance:
That’s just one way. There are a million ways it could be done.
At a glance, I’d love to see where the new civs are, until we’re acclimated.
- After a while, the designation could be removed. However, I’d actually instead prefer this idea to be built upon, where each DLC’s civs get a separate toggle or filter to enable/disable, so we can easily see what DLC each civs belongs to.
This also helps for if we want to have games where we only want to use civs from a particular DLC to battle it out against each other.
PS: Since we’re talking about this screen… as an aside… I feel the single-star favoriting system is a little weak, since it’s binary. Hard to rate civs as “high”, “medium”, or “low” in terms of power, fun to play, or whatever our own rating system is. For example, I’d like it if we could rate each civ with a bronze, silver, or gold star … or 1-star to 5-star system… or different shapes. Something so that I don’t have 10 civs with a simple single star that provides no meaning across the 10 civs. I’d much prefer to have 2 be Gold, 5 be SIlver, and 3 be Bronze, for example, to help me keep track of what I feel are strong civs, vs. medium vs. weak, or what have you.
PPS: I’d also like the Map selection screen to have some similar enhancements. That screen is just a hodge-podge of everything, and it’s hard to find new maps. I actually don’t even know what maps are new without looking at DLC release notes or Google searches
