The problem is that I can’t seem to make “Enter” NOT open chat dialogue. I just reformatted my computer redid my keybindings through the in-game gui. I didn’t have this issue before reformatting.
This is what I did:
- unassign all shortcuts to global chat.
- Assign enter to “Focus on selected unit(s).” (or anything really)
Then when I’m in game, hitting enter both opens the chat box AND focuses on current selection.
I’ve verified integrity of game files through steam. I don’t know why it worked before but isn’t now. I’ve grepped the rkp file for anything related to global chat but I couldn’t find any entry for that.
EDIT: I actually just figured out a workaround, maybe I figured out the same trick when I first set up my keybindings years ago. I changed the entry ‘command = “enter”’ to have ‘combo = “”’ rather than ‘combo = “Enter”’. I would still expect unassigning [All] Global chat to unassign this for me, but at least I know the right entry in the rkp to edit now
