Error 0001-0001-fffffffff-ffffffff4 PS5

Trying to play online but i get an error that my microsoft account is unlinked and then in the right corner an error: initiation error 0001-0001-ffffffff-fffffff4

Cant go to the multiplayer menu, or any of the other menus that require online service.

My brother has the same issue. It seems it happened after we activated crossplay in the settings.

We tried all 3 recommended solutions: ps5 reboot, database reconstruction in safe mode, and cache removal + restart + uninstall + install.

I must say that in the 20+ years i have played games, i never encountered a bug so severe that it does not allow me to play the game whatsoever anymore…

I heard its related to a token. Can the dev team manually fix the issue from the back end?

Very sad from the AOE team not fixing these problems i also have a similar problem. Its like the team dont care

This issue has been affecting me since May 2nd. When it first appeared, the error message was 0001.0001.ffffffff.ffffffff, and after this last update, the number 4 was added.

I’ve contacted support countless times and always received the same response. I assume it’s an AI that answers me, as there’s no guarantee they’re actually looking for solutions to this problem. It doesn’t take much digging on the forums to find other similar cases where players have been facing this issue since March. That’s four months without being able to play, which is already proof of the game’s support for the PS5 console.

And luckily I didn’t buy Age of Empire II, as I would have had the same problem.

I’ve had this issue for about 2 weeks now, still no sign of it going to clear anytime soon, I’ve only had the game about a month, it’s a shame paying nearly £40 For a game for it to just not work.

And another update promising to fix the issue. This shows that this game’s PS5 support is problematic. This also affects AOE II.

@Crusnik1337 , @Radias95 and @Magical_Lemon123 - We recently released a very small update that adjusted a few things in our systems. Can you take another try after updating, and see if anything is improved?

Actually its not fixed. There is another bug now. I can press on multiilayer but the moment i go to quick match i get an error “matchmaking failed”. So still cant play online :cry: my brother has the same issues.

Hello, I received an email from support about this issue.

Unfortunately, the issue hasn’t been resolved, although some progress has been made.
You can now access the Arena of the Gods and multiplayer, but you can’t play in either mode. In multiplayer, a matchmaking error occurs, and in the Arena of the Gods, the game loads forever.

The error now reads 0001.0001.ffffffff.ffffffff8

The screenshot below shows that my game is up to date. Since it’s a Brazilian-language console, it might seem a bit odd, but our calendar is represented by the day followed by the month.

I’m still having the issue, the same as radias95. Lets me click on both the multiplayer and arena of the gods but won’t find a game on either, also no profile and will not let me sign into my Microsoft account.

I recently made a new account to play the games online features, and after a month I’ve now encountered the same issues on the new account.

They seriously need to fix these issues as people are paying full price for a game they can’t play.
