WHAT: Server Maintenance (Multiplayer Servers)

WHEN: 2024-08-14T18:00:00Z

EST. DOWNTIME: 5 HOURS

GAMES & PLATFORMS:

  • Age of Empires: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store )
  • Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store )
  • Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition (Steam / Microsoft Store )
  • Age of Empires IV (Steam / Microsoft Store )

OBJECTIVES:

  • Routine server maintenance; no player-facing changes.

DETAILS:

This coming Wednesday, August 14th , the platform team will be taking the multiplayer servers down for regular maintenance. Please note:

  • Online matchmaking will be disabled exactly one hour before the maintenance window to prevent disruption to newly-formed matches.
  • Any matches still in progress at the start of the maintenance window will be disrupted when the servers are taken offline.
  • DURING THE MAINTENANCE WINDOW, YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO LAUNCH THE GAME, BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCHMAKE OR ACCESS ANY ONLINE FEATURES.

To prevent any interruptions, we recommend wrapping up any games at least 10 minutes before the maintenance window. The downtime is expected to last 5 hours . You can watch this thread for any changes to the schedule as they arise, as well as the all-clear when the maintenance is complete.

A forewarning to everyone that the multiplayer services will be unavailable for 5 hours starting in 1 hour (11am PT/ 18:00 UTC) as they undergo routine maintenance. Please check the schedule above and plan ahead to prevent the down-time from disrupting your matches!

Since this server maintenance has started I am no longer able to login and the connection is disconnected.

Trying to connect by pushing the button in the Multiplayer Menu results in the error (see screenshot).

I posted screenshots with Game Build. There must be something wrong with the server update. When are we going back online Microsoft? In multiplayer lobbies we would say “the trolls are active again!”

After sending messages to Support the game somehow worked again. Its the Universal Troll that was active once more! I had intenet throughout this whole ordeal, so I don’t know what the real issue was.

However there is one issue with the game since the update.

Chat in-game doesnt work.

So I cannot communicate with people.
