Game Version: Age of Empires IV / 4

  • Build: 3400ghz 8 CPUs i7 16gb RAM AMD Radeon 6970m 2gb
  • Platform: Steam
  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Gamertag: CrimsonMayCry

Issue:

(*Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device. Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Age Of Empires IV. Verify that DirectX is properly installed and that you have the latest drivers for your system.

Problem comes at startup of the game and the game starts running extremely slow and laggy and it just doesn’t make sense cause I can run tons of games with way higher graphics then aoe4 with no issues:

I tried to:

-Install latest drivers
-Reinstall DirectX12
-Add “-minvidmem 0” in the target (steam and shortcut)
-Unistall and reinstall the game multiple times
-Reinstall Windows10

And none of the above worked.
Any solutions?

Hi. I have the same problem since like one week

I have the same issue, the game was working fine until last week (17-06-23)… after an steam update or game update can’t play anymore and get the same situation and error description.
My specs meet the requirements described in steam store page.

After some research, i was able to play again by activating the previous_live beta in game settings in steam, but you can’t play with your friends if they don’t match te same game version… so is useless.

Please, we need this issue to be fixed.
