[FAN GAME] AoE3-Inspired FP-RPG

Hi, first of all it’s not a mod, so not sure if my topic would be allowed to be posted here. Anyway, since the company ‘abandonned’ the game itself, I think any kind of content should be welcomed.

I’d like to put forward a game on which I have been working on since 2019. Taking direct inspiration and content from Age of Empires 3, discussions from this forum, other mods and games (most assets are from other games) etc, it is a way to represent something that I love from AoE3:

  • generic but specific cultural elements from various cultures of the world of that time.

So mostly the game attempts to represent hundreds of different “units” (called Adventurer) that the player can hire and control, similarly to a party-based rpg. At first I wanted to make a physical card game, hence many remnents of texts mentionning card-game mecanics.

Based on the region, different adventurers may be encountered. They have specific traits and characteristics, and even a lore text that some may find amusing to find its source. Sometimes it’s just made up though, but usually it has a historical link.

I always liked the idea of a smale-scaled but persistent version of nomad/lost/unknown skirmish game mode. That’s kind of what I want to create.

The game is made with a lot of help from AI (some people may not like it, call it ‘vibe codding’, whatever, I don’t hide it). I’m not an expert in the technologies used, nor about historical aspects as well. It is loosely based in the pre-modern era of course, including special and rare elements from earlier times (medieval).

If you are interested in this project, I’m more than open to any suggestion/participation/ideas. Especially, I want to have more balanced roster of adventurers globally, as well as settlements, etc. The combat system is not fully implemented yet (most appearant features are not implemented anyway).

So if you fancy the idea of playing a group composed of a Starets, a Dragoman, a Bregaund, a Cossack, and Cholos, this is maybe for you!
