After the latest release, I’ve noticed a lot more posts on the internet with some really cool feature ideas. So, I’ve gathered them all up and put them here, so that the devs can take a look and consider them:
MAIN FEATURES
- Introduce quick match options for Nomad, including formats like Free-For-All, 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3, and 4vs4.
- Adjust the attack move to ignore buildings (e.g., use ‘A’ for an attack move that ignores buildings; ‘Shift + A’ for the current attack move).
- Implement an option to exclude scouts from being counted as military units when selecting all military, possibly through a toggle like “Exclude scout units from military count.”
- Implement an option to exclude religious units from being counted as military units, possibly through a toggle like “Exclude religious units from military count.”
- Add a hotkey for selecting all military buildings except docks.
- Use distinct icons for idle traders, different from those of idle villagers.
- Enable adding gates to incomplete wall segments
- Implement follow and guard commands, enabling a unit to protect another selected unit as it moves (which would be especially useful for monks, siege units, etc.)
- Automatic button queue (this is a controversial one)
- In Single Player, introduce a restart button that regenerates the same setup but with a different seed, thereby maintaining the same setup but with varied details.
- Facilitate the incremental decrease of selected unit types (e.g., pressing a button reduces the current selection of six villagers to five, and so on).
- Add more military traps, ambushes, and dynamic engagements, terrain types that slow specific units (like swamps), making elevation and/or terrain inclination impactful in battles.
- Place a small flag or icon next to player names to indicate their chosen civilization.
- Display the map on loading screens, rather than showing civilization flags twice.
- Enable the creation of pools of civilizations for random selection.
OTHER FEATURES
- Introduce offline replay capabilities.
- Develop more campaigns in the Age of Empires II style.
- Enable players to rejoin a game after disconnecting.
- Create an Art of War mission for each civilization.
- Add options for a random selection of maps and biomes when hosting a lobby.
- Include a treaty timer at the start of allied games.
- Integrate greater color variety in campaigns.
