Tonight I was discussing in the AOE4 discord channel.
I said that I’m quite active at the forum but I don’t see the devs often answer to posts.
One of the developers answered me very fast
That is good news. I think they do it well this way.

I noticed a long time ago that despite the fact that the developers do not answer, they pay attention to the opinion of players. It was noticeable in the patches, of course it’s great because i know that there are games where the developers are completely blind to what the players tell them and nothing good comes of it.
Basic idea is, companies don’t have the developers scour through the forums for feedback themselves on any major game. Fact of the matter is there’s not enough time in the day for them to do that officially and a lot of people just want to relax when work is over, not do data management for feedback when they’re off work, especially programmers who are worked to the bone. You have live environment teams that scour forums, reddit, et all for feedback that organize it in function of positive or negative feedback to then send toward the developers and management. This is besides the extra stuff that Relic does with the council, that ones special. If the devs themselves are personally looking through the forums as well, that’s a point for them being invested into the community.
The devs are active both here and on other places, they read, they just don’t reply often.
