Good day everyone. So, I’ve been looking at the new maps through the scenario editor and I must say I’m quite disappointed. I feel like maps have become worse with each new DLC but these new maps are on another level. In my opinion, a good map should be somewhat symmetrical without looking like it’s been terraformed into a perfect and unnatural shape by some alien civilization. See what I mean? However, there are a few that I like, such as Nunavut and Sapmi, which are symmetrical while also looking natural. I encourage you all to go see for yourself and feel free to comment your opinion.
Also, there are a few more minor things I think should be changed:
- The Tengri shrine has nothing to do on Northwest passage. They should be replaced by Inuits.
- Elks are present on some maps, such as Greenland, when they shouldn’t be. They should be replaced with caribous.
- On many maps, you can see the sea floor. Maybe change the water type, the terrain or make the water deeper.
- Although not new, this needs to be addressed. Water trades routes should be invisible. I don’t think I need to explain why.
Now, as for the cool new additions:
- I love the new fishing holes. Clever way to replace the berry bushes!
- Timber importers are good for maps with few or no trees at all. It’s odd, however, that you can capture them without killing the guardians.
- I love the capturable lighthouses, but just like for the timber importer, you can capture it without killing the guardians. They also should be present on more than 2 maps.
- The new fauna, treasure guardians and natives are awesome!
What are your opinions about the new maps?
