The naming of laming has its reason behind being just lame. If you hate on that change, we’ll go lure the enemy boar towards your base and wall on decaying hunt, I guess
For me shooting the boar with the TC and not be able to collect it was only a problem, when there was the bug that TCs would stay aggroed towards boars even after being ungarrisoned once, when I saved the weak villager from the final strike.
Otherwise I 99% never kill my boar with the TC.
It’s even arguable that it’s faster to ungarrison on 1 HP and shoot and gather right away instead of staying in TC for another volley.
For me this is a quality of life change and has nothing to do with lowering the skill ceiling, because as you mentioned, of you are at a level where you shoot your boar with the TC you usually are ready to do so without killing it. Now, if less competent players use this feature to then spend an action on managing something else, they will likely rather have more eco idle time by staying inside the TC for longer than necessary opposed to focussing on weakening the boar and finishing it off after ungarrison and collect it right away.
I think your point is invalid and you didn’t think your complaint through but rather wanted to hate on the devs for making the game easier again with something that does not even apply to you and your games (I take it you areime 1500+)
Something I really like about the update is that many more unit attributes are modifiable now, including sounds, damage graphics, snow graphics, etc. Almost no limits for unit customisation in scenarios.
It’s also nice that Return of Rome received some additional content from the base game.
That was initially not a bug, that was how it worked. They changed the behavior to have it not do that, and then the behavior regressed. Inconsistency like that is annoying though.
The issue is that luring the boar can now be done with no attention required and little to no risk once you pull the villager back to the TC. Attention is a limited resource and as you try and multi-task, different things are vying for your attention. Particularly if the other player is harassing you in Dark Age with his scout or you are in a scout fight and you are also trying to lure a boar at the same time, you might forget to ungarrison the TC and shoot the boar, losing the food. That rewards the other player for distracting you and using up your attention. This change removes that reward.
I would say it is a good idea to change up the units stats according to the pathfinding, as long as they are not confident that the pathfinding is stable.
Better have annoyingly every changing minor stats on units that all units being heavily underpowered for years until a good pathfinding is found.
But it seems they developed a strong test suite for pathfinding this time. If they manage to refrain themselves from releasing a patch/DLC as long as it breaks the pathfinding, then we should converge to a stable balance melee vs ranged.
As Lilim replied, the issue was tracked.
Putting out a PUP and releasing the update a month later does not mean that every single issue that has come up during beta could be fixed until patch release.
You guys really need to consider thinking about devs as human beings with private lives who are not machines working 24/7 without any error.
And still, he may have raised his disappointment but that is not the same as rasing a point and contributing to a discussion. Imagine your a starting a discussion about an improvement in your company and then there is a feedback round after massive changes and improvements have been implemented. And then you ask into the round with no actual reference as to what your concern is, why there was even a testing period if feedback during testing wasn’t read when in reality the patch notes literally contained many thankful words from the devs and the request to keep the communication alive to be able to work on issues like that in the future.
Saying “you didn’t read anything so why do you even pretend?” is just straight up toxic and passive aggressive.
For some reason some people just always have to put their irrelevant and absolutely content-free “points” out into the world and expect to be valid without even considering the circumstances.
Unfortunately you will read this and still think I am full of shit and you two people are in the right, having learned nothing.
