Finally an official statement about AOE 3 in Esports (no kidding)

An official announcement has been delivered as part of
“Age of Esports” depicting the official WE support for AOE 3 TOURNAMENTS!
Yes you read it right
So our existence is being known again :face_holding_back_tears::pray:

So this could open the door to more content for the game, patches, updates, fixes, QoL features!

One problem. The last sentence says it’s subject to change. They could just delay it again.

Delay? The calendar with the AoE3 championship is already up!

This is awesome! Hopefully they can nerf some of the worst offenders before the tournament, I’d rather not see only Ottomans and USA.

Maybe the Ōdzutsu card too.

Guessing sign-ups aren’t yet available?

excellent news, it seems that AOE III is starting to have relevance

Hallelujah…they remembered poor AoE 3 and already included the autumn tournament in the calendar…there are also several AoM tournaments appearing between late 2024 and early 2025 where we will probably see the Chinese in action…

Sadly, this is nothing more than a record of some civic match inside the official calendar, and we still didn’t get to go to the Red Bull Cup

the prize is too low. 750 dollar…

Signups already closed on September 1st and matches are already ongoing for ESOC Autumn Championship.
It is a community-funded tournament, organized by AoE3 players themselves; one of many such tournaments which have been happening for years before this calendar existed. But it is good to see our community efforts acknowledged by WE and giving these events more visibility.

Community gotta do, what company refuses to do

We can take steps. This at least is a small turn in the “everything goes downhill” trend.

I really don’t see the need to help microsoft of all companies at all. If anything since their oligopolistic market position is a fact they should do far more for their gaming division and their products/ custommers.

Alas lobbying prohibits consequences and we are stuck with the result, not just in gaming but also in other parts.
