I am also excited for Dawn of War IV, but is the Age of Empires forum the best place for this kind of discussion?

If Relic Is going to develop It, It could reflect also on Age of Empires 4, in some ways.

Yeah, and Relic isn’t involved in development from what I’m seeing. This is from KING Art Games, the same people who made Iron Harvest.

Games Workshop never renewed a contract with them, I feel like this has been known about since the leaks started dropping. Relic was able to do a remaster of DoW 1 because it’s their IP.

So, Relic is not in good Waters.

It’s hard to me thinking they Will be involved with AOE4 anymore. They are a small studio.

Unfortunately they made a mess with Dow3 and Games Workshop not rinnovated agreement with them anymore

Yeah, that was the news that broke something like 9 years ago. They just aren’t what they used to be, rose colored glasses and all that. It’s been like that since even before AoE IV was announced. Remember the bankruptcy that THQ went through in 2013? That’s when that stuff started happening. This is kind of old news lol

Relic bosses literally went to Games Workshop the other month.

Dawn of War is a 40k IP that still requires GW involvement.

Relic are a smaller, independent studio now. But the amount of nonsense people make up remains absurd. DoW: DE seems to be selling well, they’re still supporting CoH 3 and they’re diversifying with Earth vs. Mars.

I see them going back to their indie roots as a good thing, even if DoW IV by another dev has me automatically less interested (perhaps unfairly, but also, RIP Cyrus :/).

Absolutely. By no means is Relic not being involved with DoW IV a problem. They still make excellent games, DoW 1 remake sold 150k+ copies in the first day it was available. Iron Harvest was a great game too, and it’s good to see that a relatively new company is getting a shot at a big IP like Warhammer (during a huge push for public awareness of the brand no less)

It just means it has absolutely nothing to do with Age of Empires!

I was expecting Dawn of War 4, but really wasnt expecting King Art Games to develop it. Looks like Games Workshop dropped Relic after DoW3.

Yes, probably right.

Moving this to off-topic as it is not really related with AoE 4 apart from sharing the same dev.

Relic and GW met a few months back. Relic just released DoW: Definitive Edition. This requires ongoing comms with GW (as anything 40k does).

More likely, Relic have their hands full supporting CoH 3, developing DoW: DE, and Earth vs. Mars.

I suggest you see the many video previews on web. They are very very positive.

It could be a banger next year if Developers would reach what they promised

Great focus on SP, 70 missions trough dynamic Campaigns for each factions, beatiful graphic (UNITY Engine), cinematograpbic zoom ,(what i would had like to see in AOE4),uniique factions and great narratives (One of the main writer behind warhammer 40k made the narrative fot these new Campaigns) and sincro-kills (you can see space marine fighting with two or more orcs at the same in very realistic mode).

Watch this interview. I think you’ll find It very interesting
