you have to restrirct aoe exe file to reach xbox servers and delete current profile from user folder
well i will try split my post 
You have to restrict aoe2 exe file to connect xbox live servers.
To do this you have to edit your “hosts” file located in
"C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"
add lines and save (sometimes windows dont allow to save this file to do edit, copy file to desktop edit and copy back):
127.0.0.1 title.mgt.xboxlive.com
127.0.0.1 phoenix.maelstrom.gameservices.xboxlive.com
127.0.0.1 cdn.ageofempires.com
127.0.0.1 aoe-api.worldsedgelink.com
127.0.0.1 rl0aoelivemk2blob.blob.core.windows.net
also you have to delete “C:\Users'yourusername’\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE” folder.

Its never recommendet to edit the host file, or any other windows file, if you dont know, what you are doing !

I hope it works because I’ve tried everything so far and nothing works.
EDIT: Well, it doesn’t work in the Steam version. Steam Cloud is my bitter enemy for this kind of thing
