Same issue here, Max settings w. 4K Video Pack installed @ 26FPS in main menu, gameplay has no issues at 110 FPS. Have been trying to complete masteries and enough submenu clicks + games played results in game crashing.
This is after a fresh Windows 10 install after the Windows 11 + AoE4 Update + MS Store causing “Preparing 0%” to become stuck.
Same issue as described by many posts above. Massive framerate drop in main menus, especially after playing around in Masteries Menus. I think there is a memory leak somewhere. My RAM utilization seems to climb as I click through the masteries. It resets back to a baseline when I restart the game.
Replying to bump this up, I’ve had this issue since the game launched. Currently sitting around 15 fps in the menu. My game runs capped at 165 fps when I’m in a match and I have a high end PC.
I still have this issue, after checking out the masteries, the game straight up refuses to use the GPU(it’s idle) in the menus. when launching into a match it works fine again, but navigating the menus with 1-2 FPS is SOMEWHAT frustrating. bumping because this issue has existed since launch.
It also happens to me every time I open the mastery menu

i start the game and have 130 fps. then i switch to mastery and boom i have 19 FPS and it stays there as long as i restart the game, WTF
