Frame rate / graphics slow downs with Knights/Cross DLC

Prior to the DLC download/patch, running an RTX 3090, I could typically get well over 100 FPS, often 150 depending on what was going on (4k, all settings maxed). After the patch, I played a game and it was hovering around 23 FPS.

After turning down almost all graphics options, including shrinking the render scale to 75%, I’m able to get it up to about 35.

This is pretty insane, given I haven’t played any game with this card anywhere near that frame rate. It feels to me like someone left a debug flag on in the code or maybe there’s some weird logging problem or some other inefficient code.

Yes, I did also try updating graphics drivers, and none of my other games seem affected. It’s really nuts and makes the game nearly unplayable. It’s certainly not enjoyable. Would appreciate developers looking into this one!

Edit: even sitting in the lobby, after changing the resolution down to 1920x1080, only nets me 73 FPS. When I look in the graphics setting page, it lists my GeForce 3090 there, so I know it’s not trying to use some integrated graphics or something (not that I have one; this is not a laptop but a water-cooled 3090 desktop setup).

On my laptop, running an RTX 4070 at 2560x1600, the lobby maxes my laptop at 240 fps (the refresh rate of the screen). In game it runs fine around 160-170 FPS. Maybe there’s something weird going on with the 30x series?

I just don’t know what else to try here.
