In the french translation of the game, low countries is “plats-pays”, but, the correct french translation is “Pays-bas”. Looks like bad google translate. Especially since in French the adjective is often after the noun.

What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
It’s “Pays-bas”.
