A friend who is not blocked by me tried to join my private game (it had a password, he entered it correctly), but he couldn’t join and got the message “Can’t join session because of being blocked by a player in the lobby” (Wording may be different). There was noone else in the lobby, just me.
On the other hand joining him then worked.
Trigger Event:
My friend trying to join my lobby.
Repro Steps:
1 person hosts a session, another tries to join. Seems to be very random when this happens though.
I did check my blocked list, he was not on there.
Rebooting didn’t work either. I could join his game, and then the game after that he could join me again.
But still, this is an annoying bug that I’ve seen other people have, too, in the discord. Just prevents you from joining some stuff, could also lead to people thinking they’ve been blocked by people they are not blocked by.
This is probably coming a bit late but I suddenly started having this issue and couldnt figure it out. Turns out, having my friend muted in game was for some reason blocking me from sending him invites and getting the same error as you.
I always had him muted cause we use discord so it wasnt always an issue. Something must have changed in the game somehwere along the way.
Anyways, assuming you have your pals voice muted in game, try unmute them and see how you get on and hopefully this helps future people cause I found nothing online to fix this myself.
you wont be aware who have you silenced because there is no tab of silence people
you dont know what silence do besides of silencing the voice chat only i guess, i dont know if the chat also is silenced.
some other problems maybe that we are not aware of.
@FE_Yorkie check this. I dont know if this has been reported before but im pretty sure this is the problem.
The solution is giving info inside the game of what silence can do.
right now silence blocks people from entering to the lobby session. Which an unexperienced person like @Jolpe wouldnt even imagine was ocassioned by the silence button. Silence button should just mute voice chat, but do much more, which give people problems. Anyway Silence button should be more visible, a warning message of what you are doing should appear or just the color of the muted player should change or something to notice that is muted and to realize all what silence button do. Is very frequent to press silence button accidentally in lobby when trying to change color etc.
