Yeah, I wish they would just let us make our own colors if we want, too. What harm is there in giving us control of that. The game already lets people do small trees, tower range indicators, and terrain grids. Is letting us make our own colors or giving a MUCH wider color palette to choose from really going to cause problems? Make it a launch flag if absolutely necessary (like DEBUGSPEEDS), so only the techy people or ones “in the know” can do it
@Planke - As an inconvenient and poor workaround, but that you might also consider, is giving teammates “cool” or “commonly-seen-as-friendly” colors, and warm colors to enemy players.
Like this. First 4 are friends in example. Last 4 are foes. (I don’t particularly need to do this, but I find myself doing it for fun and out of habit. I think a case could be made to swap gray and pink here, but just a thought)…

Personally, I’m hesitant and will avoid using such mods. The descriptions have very little info, and no screenshots. I learned from earlier days of AoE2 that you can’t trust 3rd party mods, with the warning AoE2:HD gave when entering the ‘Steam Workshop’ to get 3rd party mods. I don’t know why AoE2:DE doesn’t give a similar warning on their mods
