I’m gonna try it. If it works, I may stop using Windows whatsoever. At least while everyone is still not done with Microsoft’s incompetence and goes back to Voobly. Unfortunately I think it will take long since most pros will stay wherever Viper is.
This game was abandoned by Microsoft and maintained and improved by the community for over a decade (UserPatch, AoFE, Voobly). Then they came back for HD, which was an absolute joke, and DE is just less bad. My point is I hope the community realizes soon it doesn’t need Microsoft at all.

After hotfix today I can now play normally.
W7 resist, but thanks for comment, I need to update the OS :slight_smile:

They reverted the hotfix NewtArtemisS is talking about (34205) because apparently it caused other issues. You are probably trying to play the same bugged version from yesterday (34055), which is unplayable on Windows 7.

Since that hotfix apparently worked for NewtArtemisS above, I am optimistic.

I tested around 6:30 pm yesterday, downloaded 30mb update, played two matches and everything went really well.
But I saw on twitter that would reverse the Hotfix, I did not test again, but I hope it all works out.

So they have reverted, but the game is not reverted for me ?

How do you revert the game to play it again?

If you really still have the (now reverted) hotfix from yesterday, just open Steam and it should go back to 34055. Though I suspect you already have this old version from tuesday. If your problem is the same as OP’s (game crashing when starting a match), note that this issue wasn’t solved yet.

Today’s hotfix fixed this particular issue to me, I can start a match now. Although now I can’t see units/techs icons. They’re all black.

patch also worked for me…can start a game an the benchmark test…seems also to run more stable, but haven’t played enough yet to confirm completly

same with me, after this new update, any game that I start crashes the game. But u had this on a earlier version… strange…

I get crash to desktop when loading maps frequently, no error message, application just closes. No mods, except the graphic pack dlc thing.
