Game crashes since PUP

Hi guys, wondering if this is just me or a bigger issue.

Up until now ive had an issue free experience playing the game, this included the PUP . However since the PUP finished when i load the game it foes to a black screen, mouse changes and a few seconds later back to desktop.

I have updated my gfx drivers, windows drivers and removed 4k video pack (a suggestion i found), uninstalled whole game and reinstalled but nothing fixes it.

Any help appreciated.

Can you try deleting the contents of the mods folder at Documents\my games\Age of Empires IV\mods? Then restarting the game.

This is related to modding content being available during the PUP and people being able to use the editor despite not having a key.
