ISSUE EXPERIENCED
DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
memory leak(probably?), since the last windows update, crashes game.
so windows just gave me a notification today to restart my PC for an update, which I did.
however after the update was done, It was the Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64 based systems (KB5004331).
what happens: i open the game, all is fine, ram usage goes up to 4,5 gigs while booting but that’s normal in ms store games, cutscene plays, no problemo, menu pops up, and after around 4-5 seconds (to clarify, this is still in the menu) the game crashes, only shows 200 MB memory usage in task manager (which is much lower than normal in the menu) but somehow my entire 32gb ram is filled to the brim, while there are no other applications according to task manager using up a large amount of memory.
what I’ve tried:
-reinstall game
-repair game
-check for updates
-speedrun into skirmish menu to change civ and home city
-update ms c++ stuff
