Game Does Not Launch

The game simply does not open at all. I play on Steam, and whenever I click “Play”, “RelicCardinal.exe” runs in the background for 60-90 seconds, and silently quits. I get no error message, no crash logs (it doesn’t generate them), and no indication of what is causing this. I’ve tried reinstalling multiple times, verifying integrity of game files, reinstalling DirectX12, reinstalling Microsoft C++ redistributable, multiple computer restarts, and still I have no idea what is causing this.

I have been able to play on this system before, so I don’t know why it’s not working anymore. Any fixes/ideas are appreciated.

Hi @TheCaravel, do you have a third party antivirus installed? If so, add the whole folder of the game to the exception list.

Hey @Felizon89 , thanks for the reply! I use Norton, and I added the whole Age of Empire IV directory to the exclusions list. Still no luck.

I found a fix—I reinstalled my entire operating system, and it seems to work now!
