Game freezes in multiplayer with players’ names boxes unchecked just before the game starts.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Just go online and try to play 4v4 multiplayer

I get this a lot as well.
After the game launches there’s the screen with all 8 player names. If the game loads normally you will see the yellow “checkmarks” to the rigth og each player name. However, when the game does not actually start (you get to the map an can start interacting with your units), noone will have the checkmark. Several times I also see that not all of the civ icons (to the left of the player names) load.

Yes, and when it freezes there, you can actually go with you mouse and click to the corresponding field and the checkmark apperars after you click on it. You can click on all players fields but this doest change the fact that you are freeze. You need to alt+f4 and rejoin the game…and if you’re luck, and you dont have to alt+f4 again because you couldnt cross out BF, Arena and Islands…the you must again be luck and avoid freezing…great man. 2021 DE!

One of potential solutions will be adding chat and quit function in the waiting place. Despite the frozen thing, sometimes there will be a player who never checks. And sometimes you can’t predict when game will start. This is too annoying to be honest.
