Not sure what issue are you experiencing, can you provide more details?

Just in case, can you try to verify your files in the Steam Library? AoE, Properties, Local files

If you are playing in Microsoft store, try to reinstall the game

I am having the same issue. The game does not start 100% of the time as it does not get pass the launch screen showing “Daten werden synchronisiert…”

Reinstallting the game did not help.

  • Occurs every single time, hence I can’t play the game at all right now
  • Windows 11 21H2

Installing the “2022-08 Cumulative update for Windows 11 (KB5016691)” fixed the issue for me.

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
OS build 22621.675
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0

I bought the game from Microsoft Store.
Could it be related to this outage Xbox Support?

P.S. It connects if I run it as an Administrator but I don’t think my data is synched.

Same here. I’m on the 11 Pro 25236.1010, so it doesn’t seem to be OS related. Microsoft Store version.

Yes, only Microsoft Store version is affected. It works perfectly with Steam’s version.

Can you try deleting the cache of Windows Store?
To do that, press Win+R on the keyboard and paste this wsreset.exe.

I found a solution here: Xbox Support

Basically need to do the following:
Remove and reinstall Gaming services
Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:

  1. Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
  2. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

3.get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers*

  1. In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

5.start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN*

  1. Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
  2. Restart your device and try to install the game again.

I have found a new Solution.
The Problem is the microsof gaming service so here is the solution: For me the 2. second stept workt. Very fast and easy i pressed repair and reset and after that everything workt out:

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Update and look for updates, update everything, including optional updates. Restart to apply updates and try again.

  2. Press Windows Key + i and go to apps, search for ‘‘gaming services’’ click ‘‘advanced options’’ and then ''terminate, repair and reset. Try installing the game again.

it worked for me…the 2nd step

This step worked fine for me, but the app I “terminate, repair and reset” was Xbox Game Bar

So the solution is very simple.Close the game then press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Go to Task Manager. There u go on , gaming services’’ . right click on it and choose Close Task. Restart the game and all works well. Works by me every time
