I got my friend into playing AOE4, but his game keeps crashing.
I’ve been trying to help him sort it out and I’m completely stumped.
When he’s playing a game (doesn’t matter if it is a local Skirmish or an online game), somewhere between 5 mins and 20 mins, the game will pause for 2 seconds, then it will just fully close to his Desktop with no error message.
He said he gets no crashes in any other game he plays including AOE2.
His graphics settings in-game are set to the recommended settings for his detected graphics card.
Specs:
HP Desktop from 2022
Latest Windows 11 w/ latest updates installed
i5 12th Gen Processor
32 GB of DDR4
1060 SC 6GB with latest NVIDIA driver from website
SSD with plenty of available space
So I have the same problem since monday. I think its related to the GPU driver, cause thats what I changed in the last days.
(I) [] [000004504]: D3DLOG Begin
(I) [] [000004504]: D3DLOG End Application crashed.
these are the last logs in from the game.
Sometimes I even get Bluescreens after that crash and amd software says that they restored the default settings (which were already present). So far I don’t have no idea why these crashes happens.
hi, i was having the same problems and i found a solution. there is a “graphics/display/game window” section in the game settings, if that setting is full desktop, I was having a crash. I changed that setting to special full screen, and as the problem disappeared, I got a fps increase. you can try?
We swapped his 1060 6GB SC card out for a 1050 Ti, and it went away. I don’t really understand it. We tried multiple 1060 cards, so it wasn’t a faulty card. We still play, but his graphics aren’t as good.
