the online lobby ui is still terrible, please save sort list options such as “all regions” rather than defaulting to “closest region”. also why does the game mode filter “supremacy” include treaty, and why doesn’t unranked treaty have its own option? it makes this filter feel useless.
the friend list not showing status is such a tragedy, i don’t know of any other mp game that hides this information in the mp menu. what is the reasoning behind removing this in the DE version?
not checking and copying other peoples deck in the lobby is a huge downgrade, and there is a big delay and “failed to join” error messages when quickly leaving a lobby to join another.
there are still numerous bugs such as post game graphs stuck on screen in the next game, the screen moving itself to the one side of the map, and explorers afk beside a tp instead of building it.
also the “memory leak” issue is worse than i remember, after 3-5 game the game becomes a stuttering mess regardless of game settings. having to restart the game after just a few matches to avoid the game stuttering should be unacceptable but there is no sign of it getting fixed. might be related with the post game graph issue. this performance degradation is the biggest reason why i just bounce off the game and play others after coming back along with the other game breaking bugs. it just kills the desire to queue another mp match.
attack move is hit or miss. sometimes units will freak out or will walk forward halfway past max range before registering enemy units and firing. its so unreliable that i cant use it to micro in key battles like in other rts such as StarCraft. manual control just performs much better. gather all army still gathers explorers, scouts and priests, and missionaries still don’t have a stand ground stance.
there needs to be a toggle to disable mortars/rams from attacking units, sometimes this change causes more harm than good. or at least a boost to their damage.
villagers still have this big delay between killing an animal and harvesting it unless you manually cancel their animation to harvest. there is no reason for this to exist.
water gameplay still sucks, I’m at the point were i just forfeit every water map. still looks amazing though, easily best looking in the rts genre. if there is another aoe games, please just skip water. thanks.
Africans need a boost that isn’t rush focused, and technologies that require resources and time sink are a good way of giving them more options. add a technology to refund past and future native/alliance techs with gold in the commerce age, and another in the industrial that gives native/alliance units based on those techs researched. also a fortress age tech to improve the influence gather rate of buildings and livestock.
maybe a fortress age tech to increase the trade per food value for selling livestock, and an industrial tech that doubles the rate in which livestock market trades recover in value.
inca need some gameplay update, idk how. but at the very least increase the age of the vill shipment bb and reduce its cost to compensate, its a waste of space currently.
Aztecs needs a more exciting early game. add in a fast card that ships a nobles hut and enables jaguar knight training in the commerce age. reduce the JK cost by 5 gold/4 seconds and their siege damage by 8, making them a practical early defensive option but not for sieging in a rush. also a zapotec/maya/inca alliance choice travois.
simplify age 3 knight cards into knight combat, and the age 4 card into garland champions. garland champions increases hp by 25% and enables gold bounty for knight units. Aztecs have too many cards as is and lack a substantial reference to garland wars in their knight units or a combat means of gold production.
