Game simply doesn't launch

Hello, just reinstalled my PC, from scratch (new SSD disk) and installed only Xbox App Beta, AEO II DE, and the graphic extension pack. The game was able to launch once, since I rebooted, same behavior, it crashes during the splashscreen with the following logs:

EDIT : removing the enhenced graphic pack solve the problem. The logs suggests that there is a localization issue with the add-on. My PC is running fr-FR culture. Thanks.

I have noticed the same problem happenning after Enhanced Graphic packs installation. I have installed and uninstalled the game and graphich packs 4 times and now I am fed upā€¦ I am soo cold to play Aoe 2 now!!

Can anybody tell me how to fix this problems ? othewise it is really silly to play the game with out graphic packs . Please!!!

Temporary fix is to go to settings of the app and reset it.

Yes But everytime it is going to take time forn sync of the game saved data. it is annoying.

I have found a temprorarly solution if you do not want to reset the game. Just unselect the enhanced graphic from settings before close the game .

Iā€™m very disappointed with developers team! Itā€™s awful you donā€™t fix this bugs. Worst developers ever

Same error here (Initializing Localization Manager, Exception type 0xc0000005 occurred at ā€¦ ), though not using Graphics Enhanced Pack at all. Tried every workaround from the forum, nothing helps so far.

Iā€™m getting the same error, I have played normally today but after closing the game and opening it again this issue started and now I cant play, I restarted my pc several times already.

I tried all the usual fixes and troubleshooting steps incl. the link you posted but none of them worked for me so far. Also I canā€™t reset the game in Windows settings, I can only click Uninstall but the Modify is greyed out and there is no link for Advanced Options, I guess due to the Steam version? Looks like this is different for mine anyways than the workaround that worked for some ppl. Also I canā€™t activate/deactive a graphics pack, but also itā€™s not a localization problem for me I think.
Attached you can find the mdmp file. I can see the problem is in NtGetContextThread in WinDbg but donā€™t know the details to dig deeper on this.

Yea I did that, but the Enhanced Graphics pack got uninstalled so I have to download all the 25Gb and reinstall it again, thatā€™s really paintful.

This one is a Crash that happened after playing a good time

Hi there! It looks like many of the issues here are related to an issue with the Enhanced Graphics Pack causing a crash on computers with a Windows Display Language not set to English. In the logs you will see ā€œInitializing Localization Managerā€ just before an exception error. This is something our developers are looking into and in the meantime there are several workarounds posted here:
