Game will not start with an AMD 6600 card

I replaced my GTX 1070 with a 6600 and now the game crashes on start.

I’ve checked ‘run as administrator’ and verified the local files.

I’m using the current AMD drivers. (It’s an XFX card).

VERY FRUSTRATING. The new card looks great, vibrant colors, very sharp text, really wonderful. BUT THE ONLY GAME I PLAY WON’T RUN.

It is said to be a problem with the new AMD graphics card driver, try to use the previous version of the graphics card driver to see

YOU SIR, ARE A BLOODY GENIUS.

I HAVE BEEN SCREWING AROUND WITH THIS ALL DAY.

25 year ago conventual wisdom was ’ AMD makes nice hardware but their drivers are sh*t’. Oops… my PC just had a ‘video card error’ and my system slowed down and crashed.

Gee, I guess AMD’s drivers REALLY ARE SH*T.

Maybe you should remove all Nvidia drivers they might cause issues without an Nvidia card but that’s not necessarily true.

I upgraded from a GTX 1080 to a RX 5700 XT in 2019 and forgot to remove the Nvidia drivers for years but all games run perfectly.

If people have an issue with a Nvidia card they blame everything else before they blame Nvidia but it they have a problem with AMD it’s they always blame AMD.

I removed the nvidia drivers first.

Then the AMD drivers went black screen on me.

Then the current version wouldn’t run AOE3.

Then I had a system crash with a message about the video card.

It was an afternoon of trying to fix AMD’s problems.
