this nearly happen in every game for me. i reinstalled the game, no mods in use.
this can happen to every siegeunit

I can confirm it happen sometimes to random siege units. I dont have any sceenshots of this particular bug, but have already seen similar topics when it comes to hui-hui pao and mangonels in steam bug reports page.

There are multiple bug threads about this if you search:
Devs have never acknowledged it and I hoped it would be silently fixed in the DLC patch, but no.
