Hi,

i need help with the Hautevilles 5 on hard. I want to ally or defeat the 6s palyers.
if i focus on the land the teutons will crush me and cost all my recource to hold them off. i will loses water and run out of gold. If i Focus on water i will run out off res berfor i can do anything.

How can i beat this Szenario?

  1. Rush Wall on land base and build 2-3 Mangonel from main island and ship to land base. Enemy land don’t have range unit which make them get wiped by Mangonel easily. You also need some archer or tower/Castle as Teuton send Teutonic Knight which have high melee armor. Some monk could help as enemy will change target to converted unit and you can move them inland to buy time.
  2. Tower on land base in the East to intercept ship and unit landing
  3. Go water and wreak enemy docks to take control on water (Suggest from West to East). Before Fleet strong enough, try lure enemy ship in range of Tower or Castle.
  4. There is island in West that hardly any unit to guard, Land 1 wave of Sergeant should be enough to wipe enemy. Then turn into resource base.
  5. Buy Byz (and pirate for me) to reduce amount of enemy to face.
  6. If you buy Pirate, South Continent is safe and could build TC to gather resource.

The rest should be Easy as now you control water so you can trade cog with any allies. Wood in base and expansion should last whole game.

Ok, here’s how to see off everyone:

But here’s how to defeat everyone: guard your coasts with Donjons and ships especially against Red navy. Then focus on a land army to defeat Cyan and Yellow since they occupy a resource rich territory. Meanwhile, keep Purple satisfied with the asked tributes; before you defeat the last current enemy, declare war on your remaining allies - Byz and the guy on Northwestern Africa - and invade them landing on a safe spot.

It’s important to attack Yellow since they have relics - collect every one you can find. IIRIC, there is one on a tiny island just south of Sicilia and other next to Byz coast.

Is it possible to ally with everyone? I remember trying but giving up. I guess the Sicilian enemy betrays you real quickly.

The map is quite easy if you take these steps:

  • Retreat 100% to your island. Forget the buildings in the peninsula, let the computer waste time destroying them.
  • Build 2 extra castles: one south of your island (to deal with the landings), and one in the narrow passage near the peninsula (this blocks a lot of enemy ship movement, you snipe hundreds of ships for free).
  • Send some villagers (10-15) to mine the gold & stone in the Byzantine island, and in the south as well (outside the pirate base). You will rarely be attacked. If you are, you can build a Castle to defend your presence. The enemies never land with trebuchets, and their ships are focused on your main island.
  • Use the gold of the Byzantine island to pay their tributes :rofl:. Also, pay 2,000 gold to the pirates, so they leave you in peace.
  • Once you have a solid economy, land again in the peninsula, and march forward. You can just spam fully-upgraded Cavalier & trebuchets to win the game.

PS.

  • Always keep some fast fire ships around to snipe Cannon Galleons.
